Book Review:
Stories for Fire Dogs. Opening Our Hearts To The Earth.
By Sally Andrew.
Here is a brief series of interwoven stories that tell us in beautiful
prose of how we may oppose the madness that the world finds itself in.
Sally Andrew has written a lyrical and moving account of her personal
journey as juxtaposed against the journey of the world toward decline.
She shares her personal space and tells of how she managed to shed her
own health crisis, and how her experience may relate to how we all
need to face up to our own need for rebalancing our world.
Coming from a background of activism against apartheid and the moral
weight that battle held in a clearly delineated dark versus light
struggle, this little book shows clearly how the struggle we now face
for the future of the world is no less morally weighted nor is it one
we can shirk.
My only moan about Stories for Fire Dogs is that it is too short. The style of the
author is so easy on the eye and on the soul that you want to just
read more and absorb the intrinsic beauty of vision so necessary when
we are faced by such a dire crisis. I look forward to immersing myself
in more of Andrews' writing.
