Re the nice smelling spray in banks (and other retail outlets) which waft out over our heads. Well of course the bastards want to spray customers, we are the great unwashed who come to put our money in a place where we will be charged to not only withdraw the stuff but also for the privilege to even deposit the stuff in the first place! If it smells nice you will be happier coming to give money to the wankers, oops, bankers.
The retailers spray everywhere because the great smelly unwashed would prefer to shop in a place that smells nice rather than a place that stinks of dog shit and corruption.
Seriously though, certain odours have been found to calm people, make them more amenable to spending time in places, to feel pleasure ( keeps the customers coming back!) etc etc.
So while the bastards may be killing us with their toxic chemicals they manage to get us to do things we would not do if we were not led by our olfactory nerves.
The nerve of it all..........
